Our residential facility will take a holistic approach when working with our children and their families. Our program is designed to create health in every area of the client’s life. We specifically focus on family life, emotional development, physical development, intellectual development, and spiritual development. Read below to learn more about each program component.
-
Houseparent Family Model. House parents are a husband and wife who function as staff in each ranch home. They create a safe and loving environment where youth learn respect for their peers, healthy communication, a healthy parenting and marriage model, proper discipline techniques, and how to contribute to a household. They must be committed to the ranch mission, healthy development of youth and reunification of the natural family.
-
Structured Level System. Teaches youth to evaluate the consequences of their choices, prior to decision making, through reinforcement of positive behavior and discipline of negative behavior. Goal is heart change accompanied by new behaviors, that youth internalize the importance of making wise choices without adult intervention.
-
Holistic Therapy. Professional Counselors/Social Workers run our therapy program with caseloads of 12-14 youth. During intake, counselors will create a treatment plan for the youth and their family with a goal of family reunification. Individual, group and family counseling prepare youth and family to co-habitat and handle crises.
-
Focused Recreation. Youth spend a lot of time participating in healthy, recreational activities; including gardening, horseback riding, team and individual sports, hiking, fishing, swimming, etc.
-
Tailored Academic Support. Youth receive their primary education in the public school system. At the ranch, we provide skill specific remediation focused on equipping youth to attain their proper grade level, effectively function in public school, and overcome obstacles to higher education.
-
Christian Foundation Our program is built on a belief in Jesus Christ and the healing and transforming power of His love. Faith is not a factor in the admission process, but is a daily part of life for youth including participation in Bible study, worship services, and church attendance.
-
Family Reunification Focus. Because 90% of youth will return to their family of origin, our program will engage the youth and natural family in the healing process to equip them for the youth’s permanent return home.
